A few days ago, we published for the first time, the WIPO Panelists who consistently render Decisions transferring the subject domain name to the Complainant. See https://neusnews.com/2020/07/first-semi-annua…po-report-part-i/. Now, as we report every 6 months, here are the Panelists who are more favorable to Respondent Domain Investors and deny Claims. We are only concerned with those Panelists who have decided contested cases (only 17% of the cases filed are contested.) We also do not distinguish whether the panelist acted alone or in a 3 person panel, but the results are the same.
While there were 105 panelist who decided UDRP cases for the 6 months ending June 30th, only 56 of them have Denied the claims one or more times. that’s a drop from 67 in 2019 and 73 in 2018. Hmmm. There seems to be a trend there. To make matters worse, only 7 Panelists found Reverse Domain Name Hijacking (RDNH), as opposed to 14 last year.
Our analysis consists of 3 lists that we have compiled for your use. The first list is the TOP 10 Panelists for the past 6 months. The second list is the TOP Panelists for the past 12 months. The third list is the TOP 10 ALL TIME PANELISTS at WIPO.
THE WIPO TOP 10 PANELISTS FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2020
The following Panelists also deserve Honorary Mention: FREDERICK ABBOTT 43 – ADAM TAYLOR 43 – NICK GARDNER 39 – BRIGETTE JOPPICH 33 – WILLIAM TOWNS 33 – CHRISTOPHER PIBUS 31 – GEORGES NAHITCHEVANSKY 22 – CHRISTOPHER GIBSON 21.
I sincerely hope that Domain Investors and Domain Litigation Attorneys find this information useful.
