I have been using Register.com’s email program titled “ProMail” for a number of years as my primary business email address – Howard@NeuLaw.com. Over the years, service has been spotty at best, but today really showed what an amateur operation it is. I can only say that if you need an email or webmail service, you would be much better off with using Google’s Gmail.
At 6:51 A.M., my service went out. I called at approximately 7:30 and was told that the outage was system-wide and it would be restored in a couple of hours. At 1:30 P.M. I called again and was told that the servers were down for certain accounts and I should keep trying to get on my email as they had no way of alerting me as to when it would once more be operational.
At 4:30 P.M. my patience was at an end, but I still received the same song and dance and was told that even the “Supervisor” could not tell me what was wrong or how long it would take to restore service.
As of the time of writing this blog, my service has been out for approximately 12 hours and they still can’t tell me what the problem is or when service will be restored.
So if you are emailing me, please send it to my alternate address at Neu55@aol.com or Howard@THEDomain
conference.com. Fortunately, these are not web.com accounts and are still up and running.
Thanks for “listening”
Howard
