In Less than 4 weeks the Domain Industry will converge on Fort Lauderdale Beach to attend T.R.A.F.F.I.C.’s big annual show. It’s the show for serious heavy hitters and each year a few more domain investors residing in the shadows come out of those shadows and for them, it is life changing. There is nothing quite like going to your first T.R.A.F.F.I.C. show. Things are done differently because they are seen differently.
The new gTLD operators may be overwhelmed by what is to come, the elbows to fly and just how hard it might be to compete against hundreds of other extensions. That is why you see 1and1.com already running commercials everywhere trying to be the “Go to” place for all this. Every channel. Every show. Stunning! They know if they don’t get ahead of this, they may not be relevant. That is the case with many others as well. Promotion timing may be the most important thing.
.Club will be at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. leading the gTLD charge along with Frank Schilling’s Uniregistry and others I am sure I have missed that I just don’t know what they have.
Godaddy.com has their biggest presence at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. ever. That’s just the start. Next week the agenda will be complete and timely giving you even more reasons to come.
Sponsors of this year’s show will have first dibs on sponsoring next May’s spots at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. It is anticipated that T.R.A.F.F.I.C. will have to offer bidding on Sponsorships as a way to separate elbows. There will be more sponsors than sponsor slots by the time Las Vegas rolls around and the decision has been made to open each sponsorship to a bidding process and let the market decide what the VALUE is.
Finally, there is a lot going on right now in the Domain Industry. We have arrived at critical mass. The future has never been brighter so don’t sell yourself short. Making the extra effort can be life changing and that is our history.
As T.R.A.F.F.I.C. starts its 10th year and 25th show, attendees will have a front row seat to what is coming and to engage those making things happen. THAT is what makes T.R.A.F.F.I.C. so special.
